This session is intended for nonprofit communicators; including Marketing and Development staff/volunteers, board members, and Executive Directors.

Your organization has a great story to tell, but are you getting media to cover the important work of your nonprofit? From finding the right angle for a story, to establishing story structure and rhetoric that will amplify the message of your organization, this storytelling workshop will teach you how to create narratives for your nonprofit’s internal and external use. You will learn how to cultivate stories and pitch them in a way that will get reporters’ attention and elevate your work in the community.
Award-winning former local anchor Rheya Spigner will break down how to identify story messaging that you can use not only with media contacts but also on social media and website platforms. She’ll also explain how to create effective press releases and timelines to consider to best position your organization for coverage.
You’ll leave this workshop with examples and take-home tools to help you amplify your nonprofit’s story.
