  • Donor Advised Funds
  • Field of Interest Scholarship Fund

Support an Unrestricted Fund

These funds may be expended at the discretion of the SCCF Advisory Board of Directors to meet whatever charitable needs and opportunities deserve community priority.

When you establish an Unrestricted Fund, your gift can address a broad range of local needs - including future needs that often cannot be anticipated at the time your gift is made. The Story County Community Foundation evaluates all aspects of community well-being: arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health and human services, youth and the elderly, neighborhood revitalization, and more. The flexibility of your unrestricted gift enables your community foundation's program experts to respond to the community's most pressing needs, today and tomorrow.

Support or Establish a Designated Fund

Donors with interests in a particular charitable organization, community or program can designate the benefits of their gift to that charitable organization, community or program.

Funds providing scholarships are a type of designated fund.

Support or Establish a Field of Interest Fund

By establishing or supporting a Field of Interest Fund, you can target your gift to address needs in an important area of community life such as arts, education, mental health, aging, at-risk youth, etc. You identify your personal interest area when making your gift; our board awards grants to community organizations and programs that are making a difference in the area you select. Your gift stays flexible enough to meet community needs in your interest area - even as they change over time.

Create a Donor Advised Fund

Make a difference and leave a lasting legacy in Story County by creating a donor advised fund.
Donor Advised Funds are established by individuals, families and businesses to make grants to charities of their choice. The donor or the fund's advisers work with the Community Foundation to identify charitable causes the donor wishes to support.

Grants are distributed from the fund income, principal (for a non-endowed fund) or a combination of the two. Recommendations for the grants must be approved by the CFGDM to be sure they meet the requirements of the Internal Revenue Service.
