Liz will lead the organization in its mission to facilitate and promote private giving through the establishment of endowments, acts as a resource for nonprofit endowment building, and awards grants for the betterment of Story County.
Prior to being hired by the Story County Community Foundation, Liz worked as an independent consultant providing services and conducting workshops that focused on non-profit management, grantsmanship, operational management, human resources, leadership development and project management.
She became very familiar with the Ames area while working at Iowa State University, as a Director in the Office or the Vice President for Research from 2016 to 2018 and in the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration from 2001 to 2005. Both areas focus was grant administration.
Liz also has ten years of experience in hospital operations and management as well as directing the hospital foundation in Marshalltown. She also has numerous years of non-profit management, grant writing and community engagement.
She has a B.S. in Education from Iowa State University and is currently working on completing her Master’s Degree. Liz is also a LEAN Six Sigma, process improvement, Green Belt, and has obtained numerous organizational leadership certifications.
Liz and her husband Dane have two grown sons who live in Ames and Ankeny. They enjoy the outdoors, biking and walking their Great Danes. They are eager to move to Story County and be part of such a progressive and vibrant community.
