Connie has been involved with agriculture most of her life. She grew up on a dairy farm in Franklin County and later studied botany and agronomy at Iowa State University. Connie and her husband, Mark, have been married for over thirty years and jointly run a family farm operation. One of her deepest passions is Iowa’s native prairie, and she loves to wander through prairie remnants, imagine the landscape 200 years ago, and tend a five-acre reconstructed prairie on their property. Connie is very active on the Bethany Lutheran Daycare Board, which is committed to improving the facility, developing programming, and promoting the daycare center. She has also served on the Zearing Public Library Board and the Colo-NESCO Education Foundation Board and is an active member of her church.
