A $6,000 SCCF Community Grant in 2015 provided funding to purchase this chair. Mid-Iowa Community Action Health Services Director Gloria Symons (left) reviews the improvements offered by the new chair.
The Story County Community Foundation will award multiple $6,000 grants for projects that significantly improve or affect the lives of those living in Story County communities.
Grants are made only to nonprofit organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt, nonprofit, public charities under section 501(c)(3) or a "unit of government" under Section 170(c)(1)-agencies that conduct activities to benefit the public at large. These include public schools, state universities, public libraries, and volunteer fire departments. It is possible, if your agency does not have the IRS status, another agency holding that status can serve as a fiscal sponsor.
Please refer to the Grant Application Guidelines and Overview information available on the Grants Available page in order to ensure you have the best chance of submitting a successful application.
Final reports, including proof of purchases and expenditures relating to grants, must be supplied to the Story County Community Foundation by August 31 following the award. Future grant applications will not be considered until all reports are completed.
