The Story County Community Foundation will award one grant in 2012 of up to $20,000. We welcome proposals for projects that benefit a broad spectrum of the community, a chronically underserved segment of the population or aim to be inclusive of new population segments. In 2012, Story County Community Foundation welcomes proposals from 501©3 organizations, charitable projects of a governmental agency or others with an identified fiscal sponsor to present projects meeting the identified growing mental health needs and/or any of its identified Community Betterment Objectives listed below. Please note limited technology grants will be awarded. Successful grant projects will present a clear work plan with an innovative, creative and practical response to address a significant community issue.

We are looking for a project which:
--addresses the identified needs for mental health and economic development
--addresses significant community issues
--presents an innovative, creative, and practical proposal that builds on community strengths
--presents a clear work plan that shows the ability to achieve the project's goals
--encourages cooperation, creates efficiencies and reduces duplication of services
--develops the leadership potential of the community
--involves the people served in the planning and implementation of the project
--demonstrates quality, vision, collaboration and good management
--provides a plan for sustainability beyond the funding period

In order to screen for the most viable projects and limit the number of organizations investing their time applying, an Intent to Apply Form is required for anyone interested in applying for the Major Grant of up to $20,000. The allocation committee will review the forms and invite applicants to submit a full application requesting funding. Intent to Apply forms must be submitted electronically before August 1, 2012.
